The DATA-2, normed on more than 2,000 adolescents, measures the spoken language
ability and academic achievement levels of students in Grades 7
through 12. DATA-2
core subtests measure Receptive Vocabulary, Receptive Grammar, Expressive Grammar, Expressive Vocabulary, Word Identification, Reading Comprehension, Math Calculations,
Math Problem Solving, Spelling,
and Writing Composition.
Three supplemental subtests measure Science, Social Studies, and Reference
Skills.
Subtest raw scores are converted to percentiles and standard scores
(M = 10, SD = 3).
Nine composites (M = 100, SD = 15) are generated. The
reliability and validity of DATA-2
are documented in the manual, and the demographic characteristics of the normative
sample approximate those of the nation as a whole.
Complete DATA-2 Kit includes: Examiner’s Manual, 25 Student Response Forms, 25 Profile/Examiner Record Forms, and a Student Booklet, all in a sturdy storage box. (1993)
