Raven's Progressive Matrices and Vocabulary Scales
|

Description:
In organizational and HR settings, identify key staff who can more
easily handle the cognitive complexity of the modern workplace. Used in
conjunction with the Vocabulary scales, the Raven’s Progressive Matrices
are able to offer a wide ranging and easy to use measure of
ability in both recruitment and development decisions.
RAVEN’S ADVANCED PROGRESSIVE MATRICES (APM)
A measure of eductive ability – the ability to make sense and meaning
out of complex or confusing data; the ability to perceive new patterns
and relationships, and to forge (largely
non-verbal) constructs which make it easy to handle complexity.
The APM are designed to differentiate between people at the high end of
intellectual ability
and can be used for selection of high-level technical and managerial
positions.
The Advanced Progressive Matrices contain two tests:
o Set I, with 12 problems, used as a practice or screening test
o Set II, a 36 problem series that is always administered with Set I
MILL HILL VOCABULARY SCALES
Measures of reproductive ability – the ability to store, process and
utilise a culture’s store of (largely verbal) information and knowledge.
The Mill Hill Vocabulary Scales are suitable for use in supplementing
information obtained
from the APM which measure non-verbal ability.
ALSO AVAILABLE: RAVEN’S STANDARD PROGRESSIVE MATRICES, PARALLEL AND PLUS
VERSIONS
These are suitable for use with the general population in industrial and
organisational
settings. The SPM Plus contain more powerful items while retaining the
